First Timer

Being a first timer at such an event I was nervous, but everyone here has been so awesome and friendly.

It’s so laid back here at mission beach the days slowly flow into the social evenings, and before you know it the sun is up and everyone is back to shooting.

I’ve seen some beautiful and inspiring photos taken so far and I’m so looking forward to maybe shooting myself.

Looking forward to seeing more and more images from the event 😀

Have you ever had a tree frog jump on your face? I have. Just thought I’d let everyone know.

Lazy!

Mission Beach is a happy little town. I love it. Yesterday I had all the models nude on the beach and no one cared. We got a bit of applause and saw our neighbor from last year who does an Australian TV show called Sea Patrol walking along the beach with his adorable little girls. Laid back curse is affecting me again. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some work done. Here are some pictures from my iPhone so far. 🙂

Where the critters roam free…

This is my second year @ ZoeFest… I look back upon the last year and realise how many amazing people I have met and now keep in contact with across the globe…

I am a bad bad blogger, so in an attempt to rectify things, and avoid the wraith of Zoe…. here goes!

Day one was spent scouting a little around the country side with Adam & Binky… only about 50 mosquito bites within about 2.5sec was a reminder to buy bug spray…

Uploaded is an image from last year.

Rainbows

Walked out to the beach today to find a rainbow. What a beautiful greeting.

And so it begins…

A Time To Reminisce

With now under 48 hours to go before Zoe Fest 2010 officially starts, I find myself sitting in my motel room at Airlie Beach thinking about how amazing last year was and whether this year will match my expectations. Of course I have no doubts it will but while I’m in a reflective mood, I thought I’d share a few images from last year of some of the models that unfortunately won’t be joining us again this year. Hopefully I will get to work with each and every one of them again sometime.

Well for me it’s been a real balancing …

Well for me it’s been a real balancing act of making sure my clients are all taken care of and getting my act together. Mainly, trying to get 3 shoots edited and sorted and sent off to the perspective mags and online services. Of course the temperature decides to rise making it hot as hell in my workspace, making it more difficult to focus on work due to lack of sleep from a midnight shoot to 3am in the city streets. Not to be discouraged… decided to have a look on Google Earth at the location in Mission Beach and to see what’s around for shooting locations.. some interesting places, but hey Monday morning will be scouting time.
Looking forward to this for quite some time… so here goes. oh yeah plan to pack tomorrow and Friday. Only questions is what gear do I take? must call airline for overweight charge.

On my way……but very nearly wasn’t!

After getting my car serviced on Monday, I only had a few more things to do on Tuesday morning before packing the car up ready to leave first thing Wednesday on the 1600km journey from Brisbane to Mission Beach for the 9th Annual Zoe Fest. Unfortunately fate decided to make my life a little more difficult and while heading into the city to run some errands, I pulled up at a pedestrian crossing to allow someone to cross the road. However the person driving behind me didn’t! SMASH!!! The rear end of my Nissan Pathfinder now looks like a bull elephant has given it a good head butt!

At least I faired better than the guy that hit me!

But….. I wasn’t going to let that stop me from attending Zoe Fest! So after lodging my insurance claim, I promptly organised a hire car (to great expense!) and delayed my departure by only one day.

There’s No Place Like Oz.

There really isn’t. I can’t wait to get there! Packing has commenced and in less than a week I’ll be back in paradise.
